AV
Awards Digital Signage Project of the Year
An innovative and dynamic on-board information display
system developed by Procyon for First Group passenger
transport has won the Digital Signage Project of the year
category at the annual AV Awards. The system has been
successfully installed in First Group’s new ftr*
passenger vehicles in York and is expected to be extended
to other towns and cities in the near future.
Run by the industry-leading AV Magazine for the past ten
years, the awards were announced to an audience of almost
1,000 guests in London’s Park Lane Hilton Hotel
and presented by celebrity motoring journalist Quentin
Willson. The judges praised the project for attracting
new customers to public transport and offering a new communications
channel to both local and national organisations.
Procyon’s managing director Pat Taylor commented.
“ We were delighted to win the award against such
stiff competition from major industry names, and it reflects
the work we have done to develop simple and easy to use
digital signage systems for individual sectors such as
passenger transport, hotels and conference centres, education
and industry.”
Procyon’s d|sign software is used
to manage the displays, and the First Group project is
believed to be the first dynamic “infotainment”
system installed in the UK passenger transport industry
with such extensive use of multiple sources of real-time
data and pre-configured content. |
